5th Grade Classroom Mandala


During our community building time, each 5th grade class created a mandala. Students discussed how individually they are an important part of the classroom community. Each student contributed two bottle cap mandalas to create the larger community mandala. Their bottle caps represent their individual importance to the classroom community.

WELCOME BACK!


I can't believe that school is in full swing. To start off the year; students, parents, and teachers participated in a HOPE art project. The idea was for everyone to create a hope for the school year in an artful way. I then displayed the hopes in the hallway for everyone to be inspired.

3rd Grade School Environments

3rd graders learned to look at school environments from their own perspective. Students chose their favorite school environment and made a relief sculpture of it using cardboard.

4th Grade Ancient Egyptian Art

4th graders learned all about Ancient Egyptian Art. They even visited the King Tut exhibit at the Denver Art Museum. Students created an Egyptian cartouch with their name written inside in hieroglyphics. They leanred the art of repousse which involves pressing into tooling metal with a special tool.

Walk a Mile in 5th Grade Shoes

5th graders learned how to draw a still-life of their shoe. They also learned what it means to walk in someone else's shoes by reading, listening to, and discussing the song Walk a Mile in My Shoes.
